Congratulations to the 2010 8U tournament champions - team Thunder!
The 8U softball league is our instructional coach-pitch league. While this league can be very competitive, our focus is teaching the fundamentals of fielding, catching, throwing, and batting. The 8U recreational league is designed to accommodate both new and experienced players. We have found that most new players in this league catch on quickly and have a lot of fun. Parent participation in this category is a must—the more practice the girls have, the better they will become.
This league is a lot of fun for the girls - they will make new friends, learn the game, play competitively, and hone the skills that will enable them to play in the older leagues.
- WHO: 8U is for 7 & 8 year old girls (as of 12/31/2009).
- WHEN: We practice once a week in the evening and have one game during the week and one on Saturday
- EQUIPMENT NEEDED: A glove the comfortably accommodates a 10 inch softball. We strongly suggest a personal batting helmet with chin strap and cleats. The league can provide a helmet if necessary and will have everything else the girls need.
