6U Schedule

The 6U age group at Murphey Candler Girls Softball is unique in that it is one of the few places in Atlanta that offers a form of T-Ball for girls and girls only. We recognize that this level of play will be for many girls their first exposure to a team sport and to softball itself. In this league the coaches place a strong emphasis on having fun and learning the fundamentals of the game. We want to teach the girls that team sports, especially softball, are a great way to have fun. This goes for the parents as well. Being at the park, surrounded by the cheers of the games going on around you, seeing kids playing on and off the field in a safe environment, having a hotdog and coke from the snack shack and getting a chance to see your daughter take the field for the first time in her uniform will create memories that last a lifetime.

Our goal for the season is simple; we want the girls to have such a great experience that want to continue playing each year. It’s easy to measure success. If we see them come out the following Fall or Spring season we know we’ve hit our mark. The rules in this league are structured to provide maximum exposure to all phases of the game. They will get several at-bats during a game and play every position on the field several times during the season, if not the game itself. They will get a chance to hit coach pitch and if they miss a couple they will get to hit off the Tee. No Strikeouts!
